The PD Factory Team is comprised of five, highly-skilled, aerial athletes. The team’s vast experience in all aspects of modern skydiving gives it the skill and knowledge to customize each exhibition to fit the clients’ needs.

Each pilot of the PD Factory Team is a champion. With over 35,000 jumps collectively, this team has dominated the competition circuit (domestically and internationally) for the last three years, accumulating three world championship victories and multiple world records along the way.

Additionally, each PD Factory Team pilot is a specialist in his own right, having excelled in all skydiving disciplines: Freefall Formations, Canopy Formations, High-Speed Freefall Acrobatics, Aerial Cinematography, Wing Suit Flight, Fixed-Object Jumping (BASE), and High-Performance Canopy Flight.

From freefall maneuvers to aerial canopy formations to high-speed, breathtaking landings, this team will deliver a show like no other in the world.

Castle Mountain Extreme

January 20, 2009

Most of the descents described here are within three hours of Castle Mountain Resort, Canada’s best training centre for the adventuresome.

Every thirteen years a weather anomaly creates a thin ice and snow runnel on the North Face of Mount Haig. Deemed impossible by many, the nefarious Q proved everyone wrong when he plummeted down the line in 1990. Too thin to turn Q chose to straight line the descent and feels he reached terminal velocity on the steeper sections. With an average pitch of 78 degrees the line drops for 750 metres before slowing down on the moraines below. No repeats.

KC Couloir

A truly hidden gem. The existence of this brutally steep 58 degree chute was known by a few who were too busy? to ski it. Facing West x North KC is two hours from the parking lot. Drop in at the base of the NE ridge of Mount Haig. The chute rolls off for a few turns, then narrows and drops for 200m before widening out again into Haig basin. First descent was in 1999 by Peter Then and Ben Stockey.

Saddle Sore

Another backside classic on the North-West side of Castle Mountain involves variable pitches of 40 to 45 degrees, route finding through cliff bands and dealing with the psychological oppression of 4,000,000kg of snow hanging over your head. The approach is a 45 degree frozen scree slope, about 100 metres long and is the sketchiest part of the whole chute. First descended by Morgan Black, Tom Lynch-Staunton and Rat [Kyle Rast] in 2000 with no repeats.

RoShamBo

roaccess1
Probably the most dangerous extreme route in the area. The approach is of just over an hour involving the ascent an exposed, often verglassed ridge, skiing under a cornice and down a steep approach slope above an 80 metre cliff. RoShamBo is a wide chute with 6 -10 turns of 50+ degrees followed by 200 meters of 40 degree cruising.
Tom Lynch-Staunton, Morgan Black and Adam Judd did the first descent during the winter of 2000, scissors being the winner. Expect a 50 – 60 minute ski out
The access to RoShamBo is up the obvious ridge in the centre of this shot.
Often very windy and usually verglassed the moderately angled approach drops off steeply on both sides. Your goal is where the ridge T’s into the continental divide. Head to the North, skirt the cornices by traversing along in B.C. before you drop back into Alberta. It might be wise to take a rope for the ridge section.

Wing suit. Extreme base jump.

December 15, 2008

Wingsuit flying is the art of flying the human body through the air using a special jumpsuit, called a wingsuit, that shapes the human body into an airfoil which can create lift. The wingsuit creates the airfoil shape with fabric sewn between the legs and under the arms. It is also called a birdman suit or squirrel suit.
A wingsuit can be flown from any point that provides sufficient altitude to glide through the air, such as skydiving aircraft or BASE jumping exit points.

Bouldering video.

Bouldering is a very affordable type of extreme. It can be practiced without any specialty equipment at all.Though it is practical to have climbing shoes .

Extreme dreams.

This guy is almost blind, yet does not become discouraged from doing the most extreme sports out there.

He is the first registered blind person, in the world, to:

Bungee jump from a helicopter
White water sledge the world’s highest commercially run waterfall
Be thrown by the Dangerous Sports Club’s Human Catapult
Participate in the gruelling 5 day Hebridean Challenge adventure race
Set a time record around the Isle of Wight in a Thundercat power boat

What an inspiration!

What interested me was the Wing walking activity where the participant walks the wing of a flying plane.

It looks like very x3m. One day i’ll do it.
